| Bio: | My journal is a mix of public & friends locked entries. I'm a university student majoring in music. I've played with some famous jazz musicians. Therefore, you've probably never heard of any of them (Bob Mintzer, Denis DiBlasio, Bobby Shew, Jimmy Heath, Gregg Bissonette, Ed Petersen, and some others not as widely known). I can appreciate all genres of music, but don't necessarily choose to listen to all of them. The only music I flat out -hate- is poorly written and poorly played. I don't go all "band nerd" in my writing like a grade schooler. In fact, most of the time I talk about music is when I have a gig. I like manga and anime. I'm not much of a reader so I don't hit up the manga nearly as much as I should. I like a variety of anime, and I like getting suggestions for new ones to watch. I don't think I can speak Japanese just because I like their animated shows with subtitles (I think you lose a lot of the emotion in most dubbed anime). I don't get all "fangirl" over any of them to the extreme where I set up shrines in my room honouring certain characters. But your journal subtitle is in Japanese. What does it say? I had a few friends who have studied Japanese help me write it. Roughly translated it says "I do not understand Japanese". So basically, it's a joke. I'm saying in Japanese that I can't read, write, or speak the language. Har har... I'm terrible, I know. I like learning about different cultures. We live in a huge world. There are so many different beliefs, customs, traditions, etc. It's fun and refreshing to learn about them. Especially through their music & film. Besides, it is a nice break from American cookie-cutter shows to watch other countries' cookie-cutter shows. ;P I like photography. I took some courses in the past, and I used to be really damn good. I've slacked off a bit but I might post a picture here and there if I deem it worthy of anonymous internet critique. I can be very blunt. I speak my mind here. If you don't agree with me, don't attack me but do feel free to share your opinion. Intellectual stimulation is fun. Of course these are just a few tidbits about me. Feel free to refer to my interest list. If you want to friend me, just give me a heads up. I don't automatically friend people without making an introduction, and I would hope you would do the same. Therefore, if I get friended out of the blue and I have no idea who you are, please don't be offended if I don't friend you back. I would rather have a small group of people I enjoy reading about, who sometimes like to engage in great conversations, than a large group of people whose writings I mostly skim over.
